A dowel bar is a cylindrical rod or pin typically made of metal, concrete, or other materials, used to provide alignment and load transfer between two adjacent concrete elements. Dowel bars are commonly used in concrete pavements, where they play a crucial role in controlling the movement between individual slabs or panels. The primary purpose of dowel bars is to transfer loads and accommodate the expansion and contraction of concrete slabs caused by temperature changes and other factors.

Description
Structural grade round dowels are friction cut to length, not cropped. They are available in a variety of standard, off-the-shelf sizes. Round dowels are manufactured from AS/NZS 3679.1 compliant Grade 300 steel, and are hot-dipped galvanised to AS/NZS 4680.
